Fill PDFs and collect signatures in n8n

The DocSpring node adds PDF generation and e-signatures to your n8n workflows, whether you use n8n Cloud or run it on your own server. Its trigger node starts a workflow when a PDF is ready or a document is signed.

What you can do with n8n

Actions

Generate PDF
Fill a template with data from earlier nodes and get a link to the finished PDF.
Combine PDFs
Merge generated PDFs, templates, and files from a URL into one document.
Create Data Request
Send a form for people to check their details and sign, and get a signing link for each person.
Create Signing Link
Get a fresh signing link for an existing data request.
Get submissions
Look up a PDF by its ID, or list your recent PDFs.
Search templates
Find templates by name or ID.

Trigger

n8n sets up the webhook in DocSpring when you activate the workflow.

DocSpring Trigger
Start a workflow when a PDF, data request, combined PDF, batch, or template changes. Choose the events and whether to include test PDFs.

Set up the n8n integration

  1. In n8n, install the DocSpring community node, @docspring/n8n-nodes-docspring.
  2. Create an API token in your DocSpring account, then add DocSpring credentials in n8n with your region and the token's ID and secret.
  3. Add a DocSpring node to a workflow, choose an operation and a template, and map your data.
  4. Add the DocSpring Trigger node to start a workflow when a PDF is processed or a data request is completed.
