MCP Server and Agent Skills
AI assistants can now work in your DocSpring account. Add DocSpring's MCP server to Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or VS Code, sign in, and ask the assistant to find your templates, fill them in and generate PDFs, set up fields, publish versions or send signature requests.

- Connect with a URL. Add
https://mcp.docspring.com/mcpto your assistant, orhttps://mcp-eu.docspring.com/mcpif your account is in the EU. The assistant opens DocSpring's sign-in, so there's no API token to copy. MCP Server shows how to add it to each assistant. - You choose what it can do. When you sign in, choose Read only, Read and write or Full access. The assistant only sees the tools its access allows. Every connected assistant is listed under Connected apps on the Integrations page, where anyone in your account can disconnect it.
- Test PDFs first. The assistant makes free, watermarked test PDFs unless you ask for a real document. Live PDFs use your credits, as they do through the API.
Some things to ask:
- "List my DocSpring templates and show me the fields on the rental agreement."
- "Generate a test PDF of the invoice template for Acme Corp, with three line items of your choice."
- "Set up a signature request on the NDA template for two signers and give me their signing links."
DocSpring's agent skills teach coding agents how to work with DocSpring: turning a PDF form into a template, designing HTML templates, writing integration code with our API clients, sending signature requests and embedding forms. The DocSpring plugin installs the skills and the MCP server together in Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot and Gemini CLI. In Claude Code:
claude plugin marketplace add DocSpring/skills
claude plugin install docspring@docspring
npx skills add DocSpring/skills installs only the skills, in Cursor, Windsurf and other agents. The skills are open source, and Agent Skills and Plugin covers each agent.
Building your own app? It can now connect to DocSpring accounts with OAuth, the same sign-in the MCP server uses. See OAuth for Apps and Integrations.
