Email Documents to People Automatically
Email actions send each submission's PDF, or a Word template's Word document, to the people who filled in your form, or to your team, as soon as it's ready. Set one up for all your templates under Integrations > Email, or for one template on the Emails tab of its settings.

Each email action can:
- Send for every template, or for the templates and folders you choose. Any template can turn one off, or change its settings for that template only.
- Send to fixed addresses, to the address someone typed into one of the template's fields, and to an address in the submission's metadata.
- Send for every submission, or only the ones that meet your conditions, such as a status field set to Approved.
- Write your own subject, message and file name, with the submission's values in them.
- Attach the files, or send a download link. Files over the size you choose (7 MB unless you change it) go as a link.
- From a Word template, send the Word document, the OpenDocument file, the PDF, or all of them.
- Send from your own address, once you've verified your domain on the new Email domains page.

A template's Emails tab lists your account's email actions that send for it, next to its own, and you can turn one off or change it for that template there.

Each submission's page shows who its emails went to and whether they arrived. Email actions email anyone on every paid plan, Starter and up. On the Developer plan or a free trial, you can set them up and try them out with test emails to your team. You can also set them up with API v2, our API clients, or an AI assistant connected to our MCP server. See Email Actions.
