Design Refresh

The DocSpring app has a refreshed design, with new type and colors in both light and dark mode. The bar across the top of the app's pages is gone, so they have more room: what it held is now in the sidebar or on the page itself. The dashboard, the template editor's top bar and its settings are new too.

The dashboard with the refreshed sidebar: the live submissions that failed this week, grouped by template and error with a button that fixes each, then the account's credits beside its recently edited templates

  • Sidebar: pages are grouped under Documents, Developers and Settings. What's new and your account menu (your profile and Sign out) are at the bottom, and notifications appear next to the logo. On a phone, the menu button at the top of the page opens the sidebar.
  • Dashboard: it starts with the live submissions that failed in the last 7 days, grouped by template and error, with a button that fixes each: edit the template, or see the submissions. Then your credits or plan, and the templates edited most recently.
  • Template editor: a new top bar with the template's name, its version and whether your changes are saved, and buttons for its submissions, versions, forms and settings. The editing tools are in a row underneath, and the template's settings open in tabs.

The template editor's top bar with the template's name, Draft and Saved, and the Submissions and Versions buttons, above the row of editing tools

  • Lists: filter submissions, combined PDFs, API logs and webhook logs by several states at once, and pick a template or a source by typing part of its name. Webhook logs show each response, such as "200 OK" or "Timed out".
  • Search and actions: the template search, and buttons such as Download PDF on a submission, are in the page's header.
  • Type and colors: text is set in Inter, and page titles in Source Serif 4. Text and buttons have more contrast, and dark mode no longer shows checked checkboxes as unchecked.
  • Visual forms: forms use the new colors too, including the ones you embed on your website: their text is darker and borders are a slightly different grey. Buttons and field highlights keep their colors. See the Visual Forms JS changelog.
  • Settings pages: a few have new names: Account, Your profile and Template defaults. Account and Your profile show their sections in tabs, as billing does, and Template defaults uses the template editor's settings tabs, so each setting is in the same place in both.

Every page keeps its address, so your bookmarks still work.
