New Pricing: Prepaid Credits and a Free Developer Plan
DocSpring has some new plans. You prepay for credits, and each generated PDF uses a few of them:
- Developer is free, with 200 credits every month (about 10 filled PDF forms). Test PDFs stay free and unlimited on every plan.
- Paid plans start at $49 a month for Starter. On Starter a filled PDF form costs 9.8ยข, and bigger plans cost less per PDF. Unused credits on paid plans roll over for 12 months.
- Each signer on a data request costs 60 credits.
- Try a paid plan free for 14 days, with no credit card. The trial unlocks the plan's features and its template and user limits, and uses Developer's free credits.
- Credit packs from $29 work on every plan. Automatic top-up can buy one when your balance runs low.
- Every paid plan includes a HIPAA BAA, live e-signatures and the embedded template editor.
- Registered nonprofits can use Starter for free: https://docspring.com/nonprofits

Billing is now in the app. The Billing page has your cards, invoices, business details and billing email, and on the new plans a Usage tab with a CSV export. It replaces the Stripe customer portal.
Already a customer? Your plan and price don't change, and there are no new charges for existing features. To move to the new plans, choose "Review the switch" on the Billing page: the unused days of your billing period become credits, less any PDFs above your quota so far. On an annual or custom plan, contact support@docspring.com to switch.
For developers on the new plans: a live request that your credits can't cover returns 402 with "code": "insufficient_credits", and the submission waits until you add credits. API requests have per-plan rate limits, with RateLimit-* headers. Update your API client to the latest version. The details are in the REST API changelog.
