Size Limits

Every value you send to DocSpring has a maximum size. The limits are well above anything a normal integration sends. A request with a value over its limit is rejected with a 422 Unprocessable Content response that names the value and its limit, and nothing is saved:

The request body has a limit of its own, which is checked first: 50 MB to create a submission, 100 MB for a PDF upload, and 10 MB for everything else, batches included. A larger body is rejected with a 413 response and a request_too_large error. Send images as URLs instead of Base64 data.

16 MB of fields is about 10,000 fields. For a document that needs more, split its pages into several templates, generate a PDF from each one, and combine the PDFs.

Metadata counts every key, including the keys of nested objects.

The text that doesn’t fit a submission’s fields, returned as truncated_text, can be up to 2 MB as JSON. A submission with more fails with an error.
